Cairo by Night - Episode 79

In this episode, Nate and Bob discuss and review the city sourcebook published in 2002, Cairo by Night. Cairo is an ancient, massive, mysterious and deeply misunderstood city that predates both vampire sects combined. This book will both enrich your knowledge and challenge your conventions about Vampire: the Masquerade. This Sourcebook is part of the Year of the Scarab theme for 2001, and was part of a tie in with the release of Mummy: the Resurrection. Other books in the line included:
Werewolf: the Apocalypse - Rage Across EgyptMage: The Ascension - Lost Paths: Ahl-i-Batin & TaftâniHunter: the Reckoning - Hunter: Holy WarVampire: the Dark Ages - Veil of Night

Cairo by Night was written by C.A. Suleiman with project consultation from Khaldoun Khelil. It was developed by Justin Achilli and published February 11th, 2002 for White Wolf Game Studios.

Cairo by Night
written by C.A. Suleiman
Feb. 11th, 2001

Ancients in an Ancient City
Older than both of the warring sects combined, Cairo sits perched atop the Nile like a pharaoh upon a throne, but all is not well in the city. Ancient conspiracies play out nightly while the Caitiff prince struggles with the resident Kindreds issues of faith. Cairo hides a myriad of secrets from itself as well as its shadowy denizens.

A Six-Thousand-Year Night
Cairo by Night presents a chronicle setting that focuses on two of Vampires core themes, the Final Nights and the price of eternal unlife. Suitable for characters of any power level, the events of this book will satisfy lovers of epic tales and personal horrors and everything in between. Cairo explores not only the Kindred that players expect to meet, but the others with whom they share the night.

One Sect Falls, Another Rises

In the wake of the Sabbat's aggressive campaign along the East Coast of the United States, the sect has spread itself too thin. The clever Camarilla took advantage of the Black Hand's disorganization and reclaimed New York City as its own. But with established princes and entrenched elders claiming domains elsewhere, to which Kindred will this new prize fall?

Montreal by Night - Episode 43

As promised, we take a long, long look at the Black Dog book, Montreal by Night. One of our favorites, this book chronicles the spiritual stronghold of the Sabbat in North America, and the demonic forces that twist the "City of Dark Miracles."

Montreal by Night
Written by: Phillipe Boulle, Joshua Mosquiera-Asheim and Lucien Soulban
November 1st, 1997

City of One Thousand Steeples
Welcome to Montreal, unhallowed shrine of our most glorious Sabbat. Oui, we're so glad you came. Walk our catacombs in search of blasphemous knowledge. Enjoy all manner of titillating diversions with our deliciously putrescent "Toy". And forget that language-barrier nonsense; we'd be delighted to hear you scream for mercy in English or French.

City of Black Miracles
Montreal by Night is the latest in the series of "by Night" books for Vampire: The Masquerade. However, this book is unique because it's also the next in the Black Dog series. Montreal belongs to the Sabbat! We just couldn't do justice to the enemies of the Camarilla in any other way. So head north if you dare... and don't eat the red snow.

Los Angeles by Night
July 16, 1994
Written by: Noah Dudley

Call to Battle
Passionate and fiery, Los Angeles burns with an excitement found in no other city. It has become the center of fashion, art -- and the Anarch Movement. Fifty years ago, the streets ran red with Elder blood, and the anarchs claimed the city for themselves. They stood poised to make it a land unparalleled in Kindred history.

Call to Destruction
Now it is unparalleled in violence. The anarchs who swore eternal brotherhood when they drove out the Camarilla have formed gangs and now battle each other nightly for control of the city's neighborhoods. The leaders of the Revolt can only shake their heads in sadness, for their speeches fall on deaf ears. On all sides enemies gather, drooling at the opportunity Los Angeles presents.

New Orleans by Night
April 22nd, 1994
Written by: Patricia Ann Roshell

City of Beauty
Fabled New Orleans, with its breathtaking buildings and romantic history, is the picture of elegance and sophistication. It is both vibrant and dignified; the elegant jazz music born in the city's streets reflects its soul. No other city so mixed its grace and its passion.

City of Sin
But there are vampires here. Any place so alive cannot help but attract the immortal parasites who seek to steal this life energy for themselves. The Damned are an intrinsic part of New Orleans. They built it... and they may tear it down.
