Transylvania by Night
Written by: Brian Campbell, Nicky Rea
October, 1997

When Fiends and Warlocks Go To War

Good evening, childer. Welcome to our old and blood-drenched soil. We have known the tread of the Hun, the Roman, the Magyar, yet we stand defiant, as we always have. Now, after sunset, cries of war and horror pierce the night. As the old ways crumble and Usurpers recieve their bloody baptism, limitless power awaits those clever and brutal enough to take it. But beware: The Old Country is a harsh mistress, and those who fail greet the dawn on impaling stakes. So come, my friends. Enter freely, and of your own will. After all...you may never leave.

V20 Companion
Written by: Justin Achilli, Eddy Webb
August 23rd, 2012

Can a Prince command a Priscus?
How have the Anarchs fared during the modern nights?
Can the Harpies declare a boon null?
These questions and more secret details of the Kindred condition have their answers within the V20 Companion. A complementary sourcebook detailing some of the finer points of being undead, this is the first supplement released in support of the 20th anniversary edition of Vampire: The Masquerade.

Vampire: the Masquerade 20th Anniversary Edition - Episode 94

Wow, that is a really long title to a book, if you think about it. I know why we all call it V20 now! Anyways, this podcast is a tiny bit non-traditional. We definitely review V20, but more than that, we talk about how V20 has impacted us as gamers and podcasters. It’s no secret that V20 has been a major factor in revitalizing this game for many old school players. I don’t suspect anyone will be shocked about what we think of this game and book. This book was written by Justin Achilli, Rose Bailey, Matthew McFarland, and Eddy Webb for White Wolf publishing and released October 21st, 2011.

We’ve been doing this podcast for 2 years, this month. We are constantly overwhelmed by how much support we’ve gotten from the community and how much positivity we’ve received from you, the listener. We have a ton of things planned for the last quarter of 2018 and early 2019. We do have plans to expand our online store and provide some cool and unique extras to our listeners. Thank you to everyone that supports us here, on our Patreon and everywhere else. You may not agree with us all the time, but our hope is that you do find us engaging and entertaining!

Here’s to 25 more years of Vampire: the Masquerade and a ton more fun, gaming and the World of Darkness!

Vampire: The Masquerade
exploded into hobby games in 1991 and inspired a generation of fans of which the game industry had never seen before or since. The cultural significance
Vampire left on not just the gaming world but on modern vampire-related pop culture can be seen and felt at virtually every turn and in every medium today.

Vampire: The Masquerade - 20th Anniversary Edition
brings the entire Classic World of Darkness experience full circle and will serve as the perfect anniversary milestone to celebrate two decades of gaming after dark. This is the original
Masquerade in all its glory, and our way of saying thank you and welcome home.

Lair of the Hidden - Episode 90

Follow Bob and Nate as they take a journey into the mysterious lair of the Inconnu and explore Hunedoara Castle in 2003's Lair of the Hidden. This book acts as sourcebook and chronicle/module for Vampire: the Masquerade's Time of Judgement.
The Time of Judgment series is semi-canon and is intended to allow players the option to end their own personal stories.
Unlike previous themed years, there were no events characterizing the Time of Judgment that affected all World of Darkness game lines; instead, each game was given a selection of its own specifically-tailored final fates or multiple endings which are determined by the actions and choices of the
player.

Lair of the Hidden was Written by: Sarah Roark, Dean Shomshak, and Janet Trautvetter and released August 11th 2003 by White Wolf Game Studios.

Succubus Club: Dead Man's Party
Written by: Richard Chillot and Christopher Kobar
June 2nd, 2003

Everyones Invited
The Damned are solitary monsters, contriving elaborate social situations for themselves to deny the prominence of the Beast. Parties and other social affairs from graceful soirees to brutal Sabbat ritae are the foundation of undead reputation. Hosting such affairs, whether as a pack priest or as a nascent prince, can be as arduous a process as claiming a domain.

The Beautiful and Damned
For players looking to enhance their characters status or reputation, Succubus Club: Dead Mans Party is an invaluable resource. Covering all the stages of planning a social affair from concept to implementation (and aftermath), this title is invaluable for players who want to participate in the grandiose social structure of the undead. This book contains information useful to Kindred of all clans, sects, ages and generations.

1st Edition: Revisited - Episode 86

In this very normal episode, Bob and Nate honor the release of V5 by going back in time and reviewing a few 1st edition books we missed. What did we miss?
First, we talk about 17-page module, Blood Nativity. This story serves as an introduction to Vampire: the Masquerade and was published by Atlas Games in 1991 for White Wolf. We have briefly mentioned this in previous podcasts, but we get a bit deeper in this review.
Next, we discuss the 36-page module, Blood Bond, also from 1991. This story explores the mystical blood bond, as well as centuries-old feud between two elder vampires.
Finally, we discuss the 83-page story supplement, Ashes to Ashes, published in 1991 by White Wolf. This book continues the chronicle, Forged in Steel, and the battle between the prince of Chicago and Gary, IN. This book, as well as Blood Bond, are part of the Chicago Chronicles collection 3.

Blood Nativity was written by: Lynn Severson and Michael Harms (According to the White Wolf Wiki, this adventure was actually written by White Wolf staffers using pseudonyms.)
Blood Bond was written by: Ken Cliffe
Ashes to Ashes was written by: Stewart Wieck

Vampire: the Masquerade 5th Edition
Developed, designed, and written by Kenneth Hite, Mark Rein-Hagen, Matthew Dawkins, Juhanna Peterson, Martin Ericsson, Karim Muammar, Karl Bergström, Jennifer Smith, Jason Andrew, and Jason Carl

"The classic that changed roleplaying games forever returns! This fifth edition features a streamlined and modern rules design, beautiful new full-color art, and a rich story experience for players. Powered by the innovative Hunger cycle, the game also includes rules for creating system supported character coteries, Loresheets to directly involve players with their favorite parts of the setting and The Memoriam, a new way to bring the character's detailed backgrounds and expand on them in-session.

V5 is a return to Vampire's original vision, moving boldly into the 21st century. While the rules have been redesigned, this new edition honors the deep story of the original, advancing the metaplot from where it left off and detailing exactly what has happened in the world of the Kindred up until tonight. The terror of the Second Inquisition, the conspiracies behind the Gehenna War, and the rekindling of the War of Ages: these are the building blocks of the modern V5 chronicle. "

Counsel of Primogen - Episode 82

In this episode, Nate and Bob review the 2003 Camarilla Sourcebook, “Counsel of Primogen.” This book takes a deep look at the grand, powerful and often misunderstood coterie of elders. Counsel of Primogen
Written by Kraig Blackwelder, Christopher Gunning,

March 3rd, 2003

Scions of the Great Clans All Kindred froom neonates to elders accept the primogen as the voices of their clans in a prince's domain. What truly falls under those auspices, however, varies from city to city. From councils of primogen that pull a puppet prince's strings to the coteries of primogen that exist at a prince's whim, the only constant in a primogen's unlife is that politics align against her.

Caine's Chosen: the Black Hand - Episode 81

In this episode, Nate and Bob review the sourcebook for the Sabbat Sub-sect, the Black Hand. Gone are the days of the "True Hand," and all shits given have left with them. Today, we look at a mysterious group of mystical assassins who await the rapidly approaching Ghenna to take their place besides Caine. Like many other Vampire: the Masquerade books, Caine's Chosen is presented from many different sources and perspectives. This allows the book to have a healthy dose of subjectivity and complexity.
This book was written by Sarah Roark, C. A. Suleiman and Janet Trautvetter, developed by Justin Achilli for White Wolf studios and released January 20th, 2003.

WARRIORS FOR THE SWORD OF CAINE
Hidden behind veils of secrecy and mystery, the Black Hand serves as the martial arm of the Sabbat. When the blood and fire of the sect's packs and prisci fail to win the night, the Black Hand arrives like a grim cavity on the cusp of the night. With all its autonomy and authority, however, the Black Hand has turned upon itself - does it truly serve the Sabbat or has it become a Gehenna cult?

Cairo by Night - Episode 79

In this episode, Nate and Bob discuss and review the city sourcebook published in 2002, Cairo by Night. This Sourcebook is part of the Year of the Scarab theme for 2001, and was part of a tie in with the release of Mummy: the Resurrection. Other books in the line included:

Cairo by Night
written by C.A. Suleiman
Feb. 11th, 2001

Ancients in an Ancient City
Older than both of the warring sects combined, Cairo sits perched atop the Nile like a pharaoh upon a throne, but all is not well in the city. Ancient conspiracies play out nightly while the Caitiff prince struggles with the resident Kindreds issues of faith. Cairo hides a myriad of secrets from itself as well as its shadowy denizens.

A Six-Thousand-Year Night
Cairo by Night presents a chronicle setting that focuses on two of Vampires core themes, the Final Nights and the price of eternal unlife. Suitable for characters of any power level, the events of this book will satisfy lovers of epic tales and personal horrors and everything in between. Cairo explores not only the Kindred that players expect to meet, but the others with whom they share the night.

Break the Walls Down
Kindred society is stagnant, and it favors the priveledged. Elders claim domain over rights that, by their nature, belong to all of Caine's childer. Princes and archbishops alike abuse the very social contract that gives them the power they wield. What's the answer? Open revolution. Bring down the system!

Gilded Cage
Written By:
Ari Marmell and Michael Mearls
July 23, 2001
The Cities are the Kindreds Domain
The Kindred are hidden masters of cities, growing sated on the blood of the vessels within. Their domains are built on the backs of the mortals they prey upon, their fortunes made by proxies, their havens visited by the famous to the infamous. The night belongs to those who can take what it has to offer.

As Well As Their Prison
A handbook of politics and treachery, The Gilded Cage explores how it is that the Kindred make places for themselves. From the savvy prince to the raucous iconoclast, all Kindred are inextricably tied to the cities where they make their havens, and to the mortals within. This book looks at power and influence, as well as how to cultivate it and cripple others.
