Clanbook: Ravnos Revised - Episode 66

In this episode of 25 Years of Vampire: the Masquerade, we discuss the revised edition of Clanbook: Ravnos. In one of the most drastic revisions of a Vampire clan, we are given a new history of the Ravnos and their war with the Middle Kingdom. Taking place in the wake of a major world of darkness plot element,  the Week of Nightmares, the Ravnos stand as the first victims of the impending Gehenna.

Psst. Did you know that we reward some of our Patreon backers with an online vampire game called, Curse of Caine? Even if you don't want to play (which deeply saddens me), there are links to the server so you can hang out, read some V:tM role-play, and make new friends!

Clanbook: Ravnos Revised
Written: by Deird’re Brooks
May 14, 2001

The End Is the Beginning Is the End
Long held in ill regard by other Kindred, the Deceivers nonetheless claim one of the oldest legacies of all the race of Caine. A young, vibrant clan, the Ravnos adapt, making the most of a hostile world and turning it to their advantage as best they can. To that end, was their near-total annihilation a Biblical punishment or a rebirth from the ashes of the impending Gehenna?

Blasphemies and Debasement
As the next entry in the revised lineup of clanbooks, Ravnos takes one of the classic Vampire sourcebooks and brings it into a modern context. All-new information accompanies revised material, inviting you to add as much depth to your character as you like. The sheer volume of information contained in the new clanbooks (each with 32 more pages than the first-edition books) permits Storytellers to round out their chronicles.

Nights of Prophecy - Episode 54

In this episode, we dive into some of the canonical metaplot of Vampire: the Masquerade. This book serves as an update to the constantly changing World of Darkness. If this came out ten years later, we'd call it a 'patch'.

Happy holidays to all our listeners! We hope you all have a safe, fun and happy time with those you love!

Time of Thin Blood - Episode 47

In this episode, we discuss Time of Thin Blood - A sourcebook ratcheting up the meta-plot Final Nights, as it moves inexorably towards the fabled Ghenna. This book introduces details on the 14th and previously unknown 15th generations of kindred, as well as rules for the Dhampir; the half-vampire half-human offspring of the thin-blooded kindred.

Time of Thin Blood
1999
Written by: Dean Shomshak and Sarah Roark

When the Blood of Caine Will Be Weak
The Curse of Caine has existed for so long, it has finally begun to weaken. Elders' blood, passed from one childe to the next for generations, no longer holds the potency it once had. Too many childer have been Embraced in the Final Nights - and reckoning must come for these illegitimate vampires. If it does not, the world may end.

Gehenna will soon be upon you
The Time of Thin Blood allows players to portray the hunted childer of high-generation vampires. In addition, the Final Nights are upon us, and this book offers Storytellers a glimpse at one of the first events in the unfolding Gehenna. Rich in story and character content, the Time of Thin Blood is the first step toward the world's ultimate demise... or salvation.

Clanbook: Ravnos - Episode 42

In this episode, we review and discuss the Ravnos Clanbook. Known for being wandering vagabonds and hucksters, the Ravnos are charlatans who gleefully practice their arts of deception and theft.

This review marks the final Clanbook review of Second Edition. You may have noticed, this clanbook actually came out before Clanbook: Giovanni. That's because I messed up the order. These things happen.

Thanks to all of you who have listened to us over the past year! We've had a great time doing this podcast, and all the kind words and support have been awesome and overwhelming! Here's to another great year of content, and to all the new White Wolf material coming down the pipeline! You folks are a wonderful community!

Clanbook: Ravnos
Written by: Christopher Walters
Feb. 20th, 1997

Gypsies, vagabonds and charlatans, the cunning vampires of Clan Ravnos roam the night as they indulge in the most dangerous of games — lying to the liars, tricking the tricksters, and gleefully receiving curses from the Damned. From Bel Air to Bombay, from Shanghai to Sarajevo, these nomadic vampires wander where their citybound Kindred fear to tread. Now learn of the Ravnos' secret arts, and the centuries of hate that can lie behind a jester's smile.
