Can a Prince command a Priscus?

Chaining the Beast
Written by: Gavin Bennett, Trevor Chase and James Kiley
June 30th, 2003

Does a Vampire Have a Soul?
Not all Kindred follow the sacred Path of Humanity. Some forsake their mortal ethics, giving themselves wholly over to the vampire condition. Others abandon the moral struggle altogether – and find themselves in the throes of Frenzy. How can the race of Caine steel itself against its murderous impulses?

But For How Long?
By popular demand, Chaining the Beast explores the Paths of Enlightenment in detail, from the Hierarchies of Sin to the myriad nightly concerns of a vampire who upholds them. A resource for those seeking to explore the alien mindset of the undead, this book sheds light on the dark corners of the Kindred psyche.

Succubus Club: Dead Man's Party
Written by: Richard Chillot and Christopher Kobar
June 2nd, 2003

Everyones Invited
The Damned are solitary monsters, contriving elaborate social situations for themselves to deny the prominence of the Beast. Parties and other social affairs from graceful soirees to brutal Sabbat ritae are the foundation of undead reputation. Hosting such affairs, whether as a pack priest or as a nascent prince, can be as arduous a process as claiming a domain.

The Beautiful and Damned
For players looking to enhance their characters status or reputation, Succubus Club: Dead Mans Party is an invaluable resource. Covering all the stages of planning a social affair from concept to implementation (and aftermath), this title is invaluable for players who want to participate in the grandiose social structure of the undead. This book contains information useful to Kindred of all clans, sects, ages and generations.

Caine's Chosen: the Black Hand - Episode 81

In this episode, Nate and Bob review the sourcebook for the Sabbat Sub-sect, the Black Hand. Gone are the days of the "True Hand," and all shits given have left with them. Today, we look at a mysterious group of mystical assassins who await the rapidly approaching Ghenna to take their place besides Caine. Like many other Vampire: the Masquerade books, Caine's Chosen is presented from many different sources and perspectives. This allows the book to have a healthy dose of subjectivity and complexity.
This book was written by Sarah Roark, C. A. Suleiman and Janet Trautvetter, developed by Justin Achilli for White Wolf studios and released January 20th, 2003.

WARRIORS FOR THE SWORD OF CAINE
Hidden behind veils of secrecy and mystery, the Black Hand serves as the martial arm of the Sabbat. When the blood and fire of the sect's packs and prisci fail to win the night, the Black Hand arrives like a grim cavity on the cusp of the night. With all its autonomy and authority, however, the Black Hand has turned upon itself - does it truly serve the Sabbat or has it become a Gehenna cult?

Encyclopaedia Vampirica - Episode 78

In this episode of 25 Years of Vampire: the Masquerade, we take about the in-game (and excellent OOC resource) prop, Encyclopaedia Vampirica. This book was "written" by a number of kindred luminaries from the World of Darkness. As such, there is no further info about the real-world authors.

The Roll of the Damned
For centuries, the Kindred have hidden from the wary eyes of mortals. Enigmatic creatures, the Kindred's efforts to uphold the Masquerade have often succeeded even beyond their own desires, and a few of the damned in the modern nights even know those outside their immediate domains. But the long and terrible history of the undead is as broad and sweeping as the myriad Kindred who make it.

Stronghold of the Sabbat
The city teems with over 20 million mortals.  Since the dawn of the New World, Mexico ity has been the bastion of the Sword of Caine.  In the modern nights it remains that way, though plagued by Cainite overpopulation and sundered from within by internal dissent.  Although it presents a bold faceade, how strong is the Sabbat's sprawling home?

One Sect Falls, Another Rises

In the wake of the Sabbat's aggressive campaign along the East Coast of the United States, the sect has spread itself too thin. The clever Camarilla took advantage of the Black Hand's disorganization and reclaimed New York City as its own. But with established princes and entrenched elders claiming domains elsewhere, to which Kindred will this new prize fall?

From Graceful Salons to the Halls of the Consistory

For half a millennium the Kindred of the Camarilla have warred with the Cainites of the Sabbat. In the modern nights, though, the sect war can no longer be hidden behind the armies of kings or the fires of the Inquisition. How then do the sects resolve their conflicts without alerting the oblivious eyes of the kine?

Domains Topple and Vitae Flows Freely
Midnight Siege takes a look at conflict between the Camarilla and Sabbat in a real-world sense. In an age of instant communication, the Children of Caine must be ever more careful to keep themselves hidden from the mortals who would destroy them. This book explains not only how the struggle between the sects takes place, but gives character and chronicle advice for stories that take place in the midst of such conflict.

Clanbook: Tzimisce Revised
Written By: Lucian Soulban and James Stewart
Feb. 19th, 2001

A History of Evil
From the antitribu who forged the Sabbat to dreaded Dracula himself, the Tzimisce have carved an indelible place for themselves among the society of the Damned. The modern nights have caught up with these monsters, however, who have fallen from their place as masters of hoary estates to degenerates bound by the callous whims of the Sabbat.
The Flesh-Twisted Fiends
As the next entry in the revised lineup of clanbooks, Tzimisce takes one of the classic Vampire sourcebooks and brings it into a modern context. All-new information accompanies revised material, inviting you to add as much depth to your character as you like. The sheer volume of information contained in the new clanbooks (each with 32 more pages than the first-edition books) permits Storytellers to round out their chronicles.

CLanbook: Toreador Revised - Episode 60

In this episode, we talk about and discuss the revised edition of the Toreador Clanbook. Clan Toreador stands as one the most humane, yet also one of the most frightening clans of the Classic World of Darkness.

Clanbook: Toreador Revised
Written by: Heather Grove and Greg Stolze
July, 19 2000
Cold Passions Inflame

More than just a simple clan of artists, the Toreador helped found the Camarilla and have extensive dealings with the mortal world. More than any other Kindred, they feel the damnation of the Embrace, as it extinguishes the flame of creativity for which they long. But what passions inspire the Toreador after they receive the Embrace?

The Undead Find Their Muse
As part of the revised lineup of clanbooks, Toreador takes one of the classic sourcebooks for the game and brings it into a modern context. All-new information accompanies a re-examination of earlier concepts, allowing you to add as much depth to your character as you like. The sheer volume of information contained in the new clanbooks (each 32 pages longer than the first-edition series) permits Storytellers to round out their chronicles.

Nights of Prophecy - Episode 54

In this episode, we dive into some of the canonical metaplot of Vampire: the Masquerade. This book serves as an update to the constantly changing World of Darkness. If this came out ten years later, we'd call it a 'patch'.

Guide to the Sabbat
March, 1999
Written by:
Justin R. Achilli, W.H. Bourne, Anne Sullivan Braidwood, Joanne FitzRoy, Jess Heinig
Shadows of the Elders War
The Sabbat are depraved monsters, reveling in their Damned state and herding the kine about them like cattle. Or so it would seem to the uninitiated. In truth, the Sabbat wage a secret war on the elders, struggling night after night to free themselves from the tyranny of the dread Antediluvians and the Jyhad itself. But are their tactics effective or simply horrific?

Cast by the Fires of the Packs
The Guide to the Sabbat
examines the Sabbat exhaustively from the antitribu, or "anti-clans" that populate its ranks to the terrifying Disciplines they use to their methods of waging war on the Camarilla and Antediluvians alike. This book also explores the progress the Sabbat have made in their war effort, chronicling their inexorable climb over the East Coast of the United States and their usurped territories in the Old World.

Montreal by Night - Episode 43

As promised, we take a long, long look at the Black Dog book, Montreal by Night. One of our favorites, this book chronicles the spiritual stronghold of the Sabbat in North America, and the demonic forces that twist the "City of Dark Miracles."

Montreal by Night
Written by: Phillipe Boulle, Joshua Mosquiera-Asheim and Lucien Soulban
November 1st, 1997

City of One Thousand Steeples
Welcome to Montreal, unhallowed shrine of our most glorious Sabbat. Oui, we're so glad you came. Walk our catacombs in search of blasphemous knowledge. Enjoy all manner of titillating diversions with our deliciously putrescent "Toy". And forget that language-barrier nonsense; we'd be delighted to hear you scream for mercy in English or French.

City of Black Miracles
Montreal by Night is the latest in the series of "by Night" books for Vampire: The Masquerade. However, this book is unique because it's also the next in the Black Dog series. Montreal belongs to the Sabbat! We just couldn't do justice to the enemies of the Camarilla in any other way. So head north if you dare... and don't eat the red snow.

Clanbook: Lasombra - Episode 39

In this episode, we explore the clan with a giant "L", Clan Lasombra. Step into the shadows with us as we dig into the feared leaders of the Sabbat, exploring their origins, both within the context of the game, and our experiences with them.

March 1st, 1996
From their webs of shadows the Lasombra guide the destiny of the dread Sabbat. Unseen even by mirrors, these lords of darkness glide through the night they rule, orchestrating the rise and fall of Kindred and kine alike. From the Sahara Desert to the Spanish Main, from the monasteries of Seville to the mean streets of New York City, no other clan so embodies what it means to be a vampire.

Clanbook: Tzimisce - Episode 35

In this episode, we discuss the history of Fiends most vile: Clan Tzimisce. A sourcebook for the Vampire: the Masquerade Classic World of Darkness game setting, this book explores the history of the clan and its unique role in the formation and nightly duties to the Sabbat, and the grotesqueries of the clan of metamorphosis.

Clanbook: Tzimisce
Oct. 20th, 1995
Written by: Robert Hatch

Called "fiends" even by other vampires, the Tzimisce are the masterminds behind the dread Sabbat; their atrocities have given rise to the mortals' legends of vampires stalking human prey in the night. In rejecting their humanity, the Tzimisce hope to attain something far more wondrous. Should they achieve their aim, Kindred and kine alike will have reason to fear.

Dirty Secrets of the Black Hand - Episode 31
