Transylvania Chronicles II - Episode 124

In this episode, Nate and Bob dig deeper into the Transylvania Chronicles with part two: Son of the Dragon. In this book, our players are introduced to Vlad the Impaler, Son of the Dragon, and the political upheaval surrounding him. Also, we learn about the formation of two major sects of vampires.

The Transylvania Chronicles are a four-part chronicle that puts your players in formative roles in the events of Cainite history. From the formation of the Tremere clan to the creation of the Camarilla and Sabbat, to the war against the demon, Kapala, you’ll stand against the tide of destiny and the final nights.

Transylvania Chronicles II: Son of the Dragon was written by Brian Campbell and Nicky Rea, and published in September of 1998 by White Wolf Publishing.

Transylvania Chronicles II: Son of the Dragon
written by Brian Campbell and Nicky Rea
September, 1998

Continuing the adventures begun in
Dark Tides Rising.

The players' characters are now centuries-old, scarred veterans of the great Jyhad, with their own estates and connections in the fledgling Camarilla, Sabbat or even both. And yet, not even their great power may be enough to stand against the Impaler, Dracula himself.

Break the Walls Down
Kindred society is stagnant, and it favors the priveledged. Elders claim domain over rights that, by their nature, belong to all of Caine's childer. Princes and archbishops alike abuse the very social contract that gives them the power they wield. What's the answer? Open revolution. Bring down the system!

CLanbook: Toreador Revised - Episode 60

In this episode, we talk about and discuss the revised edition of the Toreador Clanbook. Clan Toreador stands as one the most humane, yet also one of the most frightening clans of the Classic World of Darkness.

Clanbook: Toreador Revised
Written by: Heather Grove and Greg Stolze
July, 19 2000
Cold Passions Inflame

More than just a simple clan of artists, the Toreador helped found the Camarilla and have extensive dealings with the mortal world. More than any other Kindred, they feel the damnation of the Embrace, as it extinguishes the flame of creativity for which they long. But what passions inspire the Toreador after they receive the Embrace?

The Undead Find Their Muse
As part of the revised lineup of clanbooks, Toreador takes one of the classic sourcebooks for the game and brings it into a modern context. All-new information accompanies a re-examination of earlier concepts, allowing you to add as much depth to your character as you like. The sheer volume of information contained in the new clanbooks (each 32 pages longer than the first-edition series) permits Storytellers to round out their chronicles.

Beckett's Jyhad Diary - Episode 59

This review is NOT a deep dive and it is SPOILER FREE! If you haven't read this book, you should be just fine to listen to the review!
Well, it's time to step up our game! In this very special episode, we review the latest release by White Wolf and Onyx Path Publishing - Beckett's Jyhad Diary. It's been many years since we've had an update to the Classic World of Darkness. In fact, this is the first advance of metaplot since the conclusion of V:tM in 2004.

This book is massive, colorful and updates a TON of stuff! This book, in many ways, is the bridge that will cover the gap between V20 and V5.

Beckett's Jyhad Diary
Written by: Alan Alexander, Matthew Dawkins, Steffie de Vaan, Joshua Doetsch, Renee Knipe, Matthew McFarland, Neall Raemonn Price, Myranda Sarro, Malcolm Sheppard, and Monica Valentinelli
Jan. 10th, 2018

It’s ever been a loaded word among vampires. Jyhad is in force everywhere from lofty, perfumed Elysium to cloying, smoke-filled blood feasts. Jyhad’s the eternal game played by elders, Methuselahs, and worse — it’s the agenda of beings so utterly beyond humanity, one such as yourself could scarcely understand its movements.
Luckily for you, you’ve picked up a copy of my diary. With my help you may just take a step on the first rung of understanding. Information worth having is information you must earn through blood, and oh, how I’ve bled for what’s contained within these pages.
— Beckett

Beckett's Jyhad Diary serves as the definitive book of setting and plot for Vampire: The Masquerade, containing 30 chapters spanning different geographical regions, encountering vampires of every clan, profiling obscure and profound segments of the mythology, and providing countless story hooks on every page.

Noble Savages? Or Savages Unbound?
As rogues and wanderers, the Gangrel have always placed themselves apart from other Kindred. The Outlanders have no need for the petty Jyhads and useless sniping of the undead - they are vampires, the highest order of beasts! Now, Clan Gangrel prowls the night unfettered by the traditions of the crumbling Camarilla. They have finally called the night their own.

Blood Magic: Secrets of Thaumaturgy - Episode 55

Happy New Year, everyone! In this episode, we discuss the awesome, under-rated and often overlooked "Secrets of Thaumaturgy" Sourcebook from the Vampire: the Masquerade game line. In this guide, you'll find the histories, concepts and modern practices of blood magics. Often assumed to be the sole purveyance of Clan Tremere, this book sheds light on the paths practiced by other clans, as well as the dark arts of Necromancy.

Blood Magic: Secrets of Thaumaturgy
Jan. 12th, 2000
Written by:

Bruce Baugh, Chris Bjork, John Goff, Alan I. Kravit, Robin D. Laws and James Moore

Eldritch Texts and Kindred Blood
Blood magic, the jealously guarded secret of Clan Tremere, has long been observed with a wary eye. Is it the power of summoned demons? An application of the Blood's mystic properties? The will of spirits? Or is it something else altogether? Only those who master its dark secrets can know.

Hidden Lore Revealed
Blood Magic: Secrets of Thaumaturgy provides the answers to long-asked questions about this most powerful of Kindred Disciplines and explores a gamut of new possibilities. Included in the book are new paths and rituals as well as details on the lesser known but similar arcane practices. What is it about Thaumaturgy that has allowed the Tremere to ascend to prominence in the modern nights? This book examines the answer.

Nights of Prophecy - Episode 54

In this episode, we dive into some of the canonical metaplot of Vampire: the Masquerade. This book serves as an update to the constantly changing World of Darkness. If this came out ten years later, we'd call it a 'patch'.

Happy holidays to all our listeners! We hope you all have a safe, fun and happy time with those you love!

From White Wolf Wiki:
Chicago by Night Second Edition is a revision of Chicago by Night, the sourcebook about the city of Chicago in the Classic World of Darkness.

This Second Edition incorporates changes both to the game rules from Vampire: The Masquerade Second Edition and to the Chicago setting from the Werewolf crossover story Under a Blood Red Moon. With the death of Lodin in that story, the office of Prince of Chicago is now available to the most qualified — or most cutthroat — candidate. Now, the players' coterie might find themselves in a position to play kingmaker, or even to take the princedom for one of their own.
