Nerd Words: A podcast where two fellas shoot the shit about stuff of minor pop-culture relevance. In this episode, we digest topics: horror movies like Us, online gaming, Bloodlines 2, and how were totally going to review Kult 4th edition next episode. Some topics we expand on, some we just blow hot air. Anyways, thanks for listening to us ferment chaos!
In this episode, Bob talks about the current debacle in his Shadowrun game. Nate talks about his trip to Chicago, seeing some cool bands, and a quick review of “Us.” After that, Nate and Bob review Beckett’s Vampire Folio 1: Carna’s Rebellion.

Beckett’s Vampire Folio 1: Carna’s ReBellion
Written by: Joshua Heath, Chaz Lebel, J.C. Stearns, David Horwitz
Beckett’s Vampire Folio includes:
Beckett’s Vampire Folio 1 is the first in a series of support products designed for use with Beckett’s Jyhad Diary. That massive tome makes reference to various NPCs of note from the greater World of Darkness.
These Folio’s will go chapter by chapter through that book describing and detailing the statistics of the characters referenced.
With the announcement of Bloodlines 2 this week, our expected podcast took a different path. I mean, we’re mostly a V:tM podcast anyways, so this had to be pretty obvious. We talk at length about the original Vampire: the Masquerade Bloodlines and speculate up a storm in our vaguely informed manner about the new game. Also, we talk about the Captain Marvel movie as well!
In this episode, we discuss our time away, crazy neighbors and living in new spaces, and we review the upcoming tabletop role-playing game, “They Came From Beneath the Sea!”
THEY CAME FROM BENEATH THE SEA!
They Came From Beneath The Sea! is a new game encompassing the wonder, horror, thrills, and hilarity of 1950s science fiction. This game will evoke all that is great in the B-Movies of decades ago, and provides a dynamic, fun experience at the table.
Our review starts about 30 minutes into the episode, if you want to jump ahead and skip our banter. “They Came From Beneath The Sea!” is developed and conceived by Matthew Dawkins and published by Onyx Path Publishing, planned for a 2020 release.

In this episode, we discuss the history of our storytelling, as well as our strategies when... storytelling. Thanks to Nathaniel Starr for the email and question that spurned this episode:
"So I've been reading the books and one thing the storyteller guides recommend is that you detail the city that you will be playing in. So my question is how would you go about that? The books are fairly general in what they want you to do to accomplish this. They mention mood, setting, and theme. They also talk about how you should outline the non-player characters in the city and get a rough understanding of what mortal institutions are being influenced by vampires.
But short of writing my own Las Vegas by Night book what have you found to be the best way to do this? What are some of the things you've done in the past? Do you have any tips for city design? Are there any musts or must nots? I don't want to overdo it and spend all my free time detailing the insides of casinos and stating out every pit boss, but I want the city to feel real and lived in for my players. Any advice would be much appreciated."
In this episode, we jump into the Way-Back Machine to tell some tales of the LARP, the Nosferatu and how important the clan is to the relationship of the Utility Muffins.
In this episode we review the Netflix original series, Marvel's The Punisher.
Additionally, Bob shares his experience with the 2010 shock horror film, "A Serbian Film." Nathan finds it incredibly funny because he's a soulless asshole.
In this episode, we talk on Sabbat nonsense, LARP, and all the perils you'll find in such ventures, terrible convention food and games, and some tips for storytelling. We mention The Punisher as well, but refrain from review.
In this episode, we discuss our feelings about Vampire Requiem, tell tales about LARP and discuss some of the deeper meaning behind gaming, LARP and CWoD - at least what WE think.
